Archive Catalogue
Most of the Clubland and James Butterworth archive material is housed at Southwark Local History Library, 211 Borough High St, London SE1 1JA. These include photographs, letters, diaries, log-books, publications, press cuttings, and other memorabilia. They can be viewed at the Library on request.
Some items (but very few) remain at Clubland, now Walworth Methodist Church, and some more personal items are in the hands of family members.
There is also a growing number of items stored electronically on CDs and on other pages of this website.
The Catalogue (and the collection itself) is intended to assist anyone who is interested in knowing about Clubland, or recalling memories. What follows below is the main directory listing what there is and where to find it. There are also links to more detailed sub-directories – for example letters and/or individual photographs / albums.
Items held at Southwark can be identified or requested by giving the Id. no. (prefix 362) found in Column 2. Please note that the Catalogue is an on-going project and is being enlarged steadily.
